WALLER ISD
SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS WILL HOLD SPECIAL BOARD MEETING (11/5/07)
TO AUTHORIZE FILING A COMPLAINT AGAINST LOCAL JUDGE WHO IS
HOLDING UP BOND FUNDING!
In another show of fiscal irresponsibility Waller ISD school
board members will file a complaint with the Texas Commission
on Judicial Conduct against local Justice of the Peace,
DeWayne Charleston.
Charleston is a judge who represents Waller
County's only predominately African American precinct.
Charleston
has acted in his capacity as a concerned parent, taxpayer, and
community leader in challenging the district's ill conceived
bond program that will spend only $210,000 of a total of $49
million in the African-American community.
Charleston
has been arrested twice, threatened with being shot, and
denied access to public records and meetings, in his attempt
to hold the district accountable to spend its funds fairly.
"Their complaint is nothing more than retaliation against a
parent and concerned member of the public who dared hold them
accountable for following the law. They are lawbreakers,
unethical public servants, and basically big bullies who are
using more tax money to try to ''cover their incompetence,"
says
Charleston.
